How do I join?

TrickFire Robotics is open to all students currently enrolled at the University of Washington Bothell. We do, however, have an application process to help make sure our members are ready to put their best foot forward.

What do I need to apply?

  • A strong desire to learn!
  • A commitment to show up to meetings and contribute to the team. Our most dedicated members regularly spend 15+ hours a week.
  • Accountability! You are not required to spend 15+ hours a week; however, you need to be responsible for the hours you commit to.
  • Willingness to have fun!

Do I need to have experience or be in a STEM major?

Of course not! We are open to anyone willing to apply themselves and learn, regardless of intended or current major, or experience. Specifically, we're looking for outgoing applicants who can learn necessary skills on the fly or on their own time, and are eager to tackle new and unexpected challenges. 

In fact, experience has taught us that having dedicated Marketing and Outreach teams is invaluable to the success of the club, so we encourage non-STEM majors to join us to fill those roles.

I applied. Now what?

Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis. We will contact you as soon as we have made a decision, which could take anywhere from a few days to a few weeks. In addition, we may request that you schedule an interview. Regardless of our decision, we will attempt to contact you as soon as possible, but we have several applications to review, and have to accommodate our class schedules.
